Proof that things in Cincinnati have truly gotten better. A letter from Alicia Reece:

Dear Citizen,

Thank you for promoting a Day of Peace in Cincinnati. There were no murders
on Sunday, June 20, 2004. The next event scheduled is the Unity Festival
held June 25-27, 2004, for more information please contact Rev. Doc Foster

I'm on some of council members' email lists, including Alica Reece's. This is not in response to anything I wrote.

I just thought it was comical that she said the Day of Peace was a success because there were no murders.

The letter is real. This is our city council at work!

I was just wondering as the way it's worded makes it seem like it's part of an email conversation.

Citing no murders out of the blue like that is really weird.

God I miss Cincinnati politics! I swear the most fun I've ever had was when I interned at Citicable.
